About Us
Tyger River HVAC & Fire provides fire protection and HVAC services to commercial, industrial, and healthcare facilities across the Carolinas. With over 20 years of combined experience, our team specializes in fire damper inspections, overhead cleaning, duct services, HVAC preventative maintenance and fire extinguisher services. We are growing and seeking a reliable Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team.
About the Role
The Fire Extinguisher Technician will perform inspections, testing, maintenance and repairs of fire extinguishers to ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local regulations. This role involves traveling to client facilities – including manufacturing, healthcare and assisted living communities – to ensure safety requirements are met.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect, test, and maintain various types of fire extinguishers
- Perform recharging, repairs, and hydrostatic testing as needed
- Document all work in compliance with safety codes and regulations
- Communicate clearly with clients and answer fire safety questions
- Recommend additional fire protection services when appropriate
- Assist with other fire protection and safety services as needed
Work Environment
- Work performed in industrial, commercial, healthcare and assisted living facilities
- Indoor and outdoor tasks – candidates should be comfortable working in seasonal conditions (heat in summer, cold in winter)
- Requires standing, walking, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50lbs

What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus)
- Previous fire extinguisher service experience preferred (will train the right candidate)
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and fire safety standards a plus
- Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
